Bree Collins

Mental Health Social Worker | Family Therapist

Bree is an accredited Mental Health Social Worker and family therapist. You can find her at The Base on Mondays through to Thursdays where she loves to work with individuals, couples and families of all ages.

Bree has graduated from University of Newcastle with a Bachelor’s degree of education/PDHPE teaching, a Masters of Social Work (qualifying) at Griffith University and a Masters of Family and Systemic Therapy at the Australian Catholic University, Melbourne. It was working as a secondary high school teacher where she became more interested in working individually with students to support their behavioural, psychological, and emotional needs.

Bree works from a relational and systemic lens, with an admiration for applying a family-based approach to working with families of children and young people experiencing significant difficulties. She offers this in the form of CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy, resource therapy and mindfulness.

Bree loves being a part of The Base Team; she believes just like how it is vital to work with a family when caring for a young person, it is also vital for colleagues to work together in a mental health setting. Bree is a registered Medicare provider and can see clients under a Mental Health Care Plan or privately. When not at The Base, Bree finds joy in grabbing a coffee (or glass of wine) with friends and family, running or bushwalking outdoors, or hanging out with her super cute dog Jetson who may or may not make an appearance at The Base every now and then!

My mission in life is not merely to survive but to thrive & to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour and some style
