Meg Macgregor
Meg has worked as a mental health occupational therapist (OT) for the past 10 years across public mental health settings (community teams) and in private mental health hospitals.
Mental health OTs help people participate more fully in meaningful life roles or activities (occupations) to improve overall wellbeing and quality of life. This may involve developing life skills or mental health coping strategies, balancing or tailoring routines and activities to suit individual capabilities, or enlisting support from others where needed.
Meg’s specialist training is in eating disorder treatment and working with adults to manage mood disorders, schizophrenia, anxiety, personality disorders, and complex trauma.
Please note that Meg is not trained to work with children.
Eating disorder treatment for adolescents can be considered if they are suitable for CBT-E—an individual style of treatment led by the client, with some family involvement as indicated. Meg is not trained in family-based therapy, which is better suited to children or adolescents who are still living with their parents and rely more heavily on parental support for meals.
In addition to a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy, Meg holds a Bachelor of Arts (Humanities), which included studies in international relations, philosophy, and French. She enjoys learning about different cultures, exploring unique perspectives, and getting to know people holistically through therapy.
